Of course, there was a bit of a fear that I'd find that I'd overstated the case or something. But the further I got into these questions, the more it seemed like my argument was accurate, and that we really have seen a steady erosion of IT's ability to provide competitive advantage as it's become cheaper, more standardized, more available, and more accessible. Vendors and competitors alike are quite good at quickly replicating best practices and valuable innovations.
